| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Claire Teal has proved herself equally adept as pop singer and jazz diva. On her eighth album, Get Happy, she mixes up a bit of everything: pop and jazz standards along with some of her own material. As the title suggests, it's a largely upbeat album, unsurprising for a singer that exudes warmth and cheer much more naturally than melancholy or wistfulness. The chirpy swing of the title track is matches by at least half a dozen others--the waltzy "Get It On Sam", the gutsy versions of Irving Berlin's "Cheek to Cheek" and Van Morrison's "Moondance" among them. Slower songs balance the album out, though these are far from lachrymose ballads. Neither the intimate, Latin-esque opener "All for Love", nor the former Roy Orbison hit "Love Hurts" or the vaguely sultry version of Neil Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" sound very heartbroken--just technically perfect and dreamy to listen to. If there's any criticism of Get Happy, it's that Teal and her band don't bother taking any risks. But then you weren't really expecting them to, were you? --Danny McKenna

Good but not as good as Paridisi Carousel August 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Clare Teal fans will probably pan me for this but having listened to most of her CDs and seen her live this really doesn't do it for me. She just changed record companies and it smacked of having to get something out quick. Sure there are some good tracks on here but the whole album doesn't fit together as well. Paridisi Carousel was a great album and this has good tracks like Get it on Sam and the cover of Moondance which stick in your mind but most of the rest didn't.
Take your time Clare with the next one, put more of your own stuff in it and I am sure you will be back on form.
Fabulous as always March 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album shows Claires fantastic Jazz abilities with her sensitive and sexy voice together with her brilliant song writing skills. Muddy and Claire make a fantastic double act ...long may it last. This album is a must for all Claire fans and all lovers of female jazz. It explains why she is the NO 1 in female Jazz. Go and see her live..its just as great.
FANTASTIC March 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Brilliant - Clare at her "jazzy" best ...
From the 'sultry' 'sexy' Mistress in "All For Love" - "Begin The Beguine" & "The Very Thought Of You" & the 'cheeky-giggle' in "All For Love" ..... To the 'buckets of bubbles' of "Get Happy" & "Moondance" (IMO heaps better than Van Morrison's version) - Claire transports your mind & body into a swaying world of fabulous music & for 50 glorious minutes all your worries are casts to one side ...
THANK YOU Claire ....

Absolutely Blooming Marvellous! March 5, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I don't really need to add much to what has already been said about this album, except that it is fantastic, buy it, sit back and enjoy!
From the moment, the first few bars of 'All For Love' starts, you will hear Clare Teal, her band and jazz itself at its absolute best.
What I love about Clare Teal, apart from her amazing talent, is that she is obviously enjoying singing - to me, you can actually hear her smiling.
So, my advice, buy this album, buy all of her albums and get yourself to one of her concerts - you will be blown away!
Best album yet from Clare Teal March 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can only echo the previous reviews. Clare Teal at her best. "Moondance" and "Love Hurts" are superb. Buy it!
