Lucinda Williams is a good song writer, has a nice gravely voice and can carry a tune, but her diction is terrible. She slurs her words and fades in and out like she's drunk. If she's trying to sound sexy, well, a little of that goes a long way.
I heard her on another various artist album and thought, man, this chick is on something. So I turn to this album page and listen to all her samples. They're all like that. The faster the song the better, but the slow songs are soooooooo bad. Maybe she mixed peanut butter with her honey.

Quite a good album from Lucinda, the first track 'Real Love' I found a bit tedious, but the rest of the tracks are ok, a big improvement over 'West' which made me want to end it all. I have all her albums, 'Car Wheels' 'Sweet Old World' and 'Essence' being her best. My main problem with 'Little Honey' is Amazon offered a free download of 'Bone of Contention' when i purchased the cd from them early in October. They said the download would be available at the end of October, which was delayed and delayed, and when I finally got them to agree to letting me have it they said they had given me a refund credit to my account and i could go ahead as long as I downloaded it by November 30th, this they told me on December 11th. So I groaned and I went to download it and pay my 99c, only to find because I live in Ireland, outside USA, I am not allowed to download the song. All in all I have lost faith in Amazon.com My hope is there I will get to hear it one of these days from some kind soul. If there is anyone out there who has this track maybe you would be kind enough to let me have a listen.

A slight change of pace in this CD from previous recent CD's. I bit more upbeat but still everything you buy a Lucinda Williams CD for.
A return to rocking form December 14, 2008
After last year's West this is a return to the rocky Lucinda of earlier albums, but without losing the opportunity for introspection on the slower numbers. She also shares her humor and sense of fun on several tracks, especially the duet with Elvis Costello.
If you enjoyed Car Wheels on a Gravel Road this one is for you.

Lucinda has done it again. Little Honey is a great cd with lots of varity and a bit more up beat than her last cd. I guess she is in love again.
