Quite a Guy! September 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buddy Guy never fails to deliver, whether it's on the stage at a club, or a concert venue, or in the recording studio. SKIN DEEP is another project that will serve as proof that Buddy Guy is one of the best blues musicians/singers around.
Smokin' HOT!!! September 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have seen Buddy twice in concert (BB King's and Lincoln Center/Legends of the Blues) and have almost all his albums, and this album is SMOKIN' HOT just like his performances! I've had it for just a few days and can't stop playing it (too bad my wife and kids are going to disown me). BUY THIS ALBUM AND CRANK IT UP!!!
EXCELLENT September 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buddy Guy alone is great, but add Derek Trucks and others lookout. This is an excellent CD plus a great price from Amazon.
Look Out! September 14, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Look Out! Just when you think that Buddy has done everything he can do, he puts out this CD! Wow! The Memphis Horns, Willie Mitchell,Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Eric Clapton, Robert Randolph and Quinn Sullivan all were good choices for Buddy to work with.
You can tell he was really democratic and hung loose on this album. Everybody gets their turn to shine on their respective songs AND Buddy's guitar playing is always definitely THERE--without blowing everybody out of the water!
I'd say this is one of his best! And to think I bought this CD on a whim (after seeing Buddy perform in the STONES' "Shine A Light" I-Max movie)!
Whether he is getting older or not doesn't matter. He is getting better and better and still can lay down those scorching, seething, and firey blistering leads!
Buddy Rules!
Thanks, Buddy!

Buddy Guy is the man!! September 11, 2008 I've always loved Buddy Guy's music. It's clear that he is a leader and innovator in Blues music circles, but this CD is off the hook!! He is joined by the legendary Eric Clapton, Susan Tadeshi and the wonderful Derek Trucks. Great work!!! Powerful stuff.
