Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Another Gem   October 3, 2008
This is another winner from Mr. Glass. The Concerto Grosso manages to be airy and dense at the same time, always moving, changing, and growing. It reminds me of his 2nd and 3rd Symphonies, especially how he deploys his string section, as the drive in his repetitive structures and carrying the rhythms.

The Concert for Saxophone Quartet is playful and quirky. Its like a each instrument has its own dance. And they're trying to be as playful as possible. The whole thing coalesces, insistent and jazzy.
