A nice Buxtehude primer July 8, 2000

This is a very good recording of Buxtehude's works, albeit at times a trifle dry. Buxtehude had influenced J.S. Bach greatly, and the knowledgeable musician should approach this recording as a guide to understanding early Bach works. Pay particular attention to the differences and similarities in the way both composers treat the same subject (such as the Chorale Prelude "Ich ruf' zu Dir").
