Moore, Moore, Moore August 29, 2008 If your a Lizzy fan this is a must. Moore plays his guts out, Great to see Gary, Scott & Brain D. back having fun. Great job by Eric, but I think Brian R. needs rehab. ALL and all great fun great intervues. Man I miss these guys.
The Reason Why I picked up a bass guitar! February 25, 2008 Back at the tender age of 13,I picked up a bass guitar and began to thump away on the E string, until I learned to master the instrument. I did this all because I saw a guy and his band on T.V. by the name of Thin Lizzy. I remember it to this day.
This tribute was the most emotional thing to watch, amazing, amazing, amazing! I give it 5 stars, but might have to deduct a one half percentage point for not having John Sykes there, to rip through Thunder and Lightning or Sun Goes Down. Even though he was only on two albums, studio and the farewell tour live album, he too was apart of Phils life.
Thousands of irish folk can't be wrong. Hoist a pint to the memory of Phil Lynott, and his gang of rebel rockers, this tribute, has him smiling in heaven. This I believe!.
Nice Live Tribute February 19, 2008 Strong musicianship carries this Thin Lizzy tribute. I think it is worth having for any Gary Moore or Lizzy fans.
Preserving the memory of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy, Thanks! November 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Let me start out this review by saying that I have known about this dvd for about a year. It has been sitting in "My Cart" since then and something else always won my interest on my limited income. I knew that I would eventually buy this and now that I had, I kick myself for not buying it sooner over the new Iron Maiden, Rainbow, UFO, or Symphony X releases. Let me also state that I think this concert is for the Gary Moore or Thin Lizzy fan. My wife noticed a smile on my face a few different times during this show. Let me tell you, as a life long Lizzy fan, things like this just make me feel warm all over. Brian Downey behind the drum kit for the entire show adds to the tribute. Seeing Scott Gorham playing with Gary Moore again and the two of them obviously enjoying themselves and playing flawlessly, this is something special. Brian Robertson and Eric Bell also are given a special place alongside Moore but Gary Moore shows why he is just such a great guitarist and he handles all the lead vocals. Most of the time he pulls off Phil's vocals just fine. The show is about an hour long, the brightest moments being Black Rose, Emerald, and the one-two punch of Cowboy Song/Boys Are Back In Town. Huge thanks has to go out to Gary Moore for putting this tribute concert together with different members of the Thin Lizzy band as a true remembrance of the songs and the person that was Philip Lynott on what would have been his 56th birthday. I am sure Phil is smiling and thankful from wherever he is. Thanks again Gary for letting us see the members of Thin Lizzy again and for keeping the music alive. Special features are interviews with all the members of the band and their memories of Phil. Priceless.
Lizzy fan June 27, 2007 This one is worth it. Very good all the way around. Only problem is, you miss Phil so much listening to the songs. I loved it.
