Amazon.com No stranger to the realm of children's records, They Might Be Giants have seen success with their CD No! and the book-and-CD combo Bed, Bed, Bed. Their latest CD, Here Come the ABCs, offers up 25 alphabetically themed songs. However, as is their charming way, the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), use the letters as merely the connective tissue, allowing them to pursuit intriguing flights of fancy that consider everything from the relative power of letters and sounds to animal hijinks. Just as they've always done, there are wistful ballads and high octane rockers. TMBG have always been a family-friendly band, and this disc works just fine for adult fans, who can rightfully consider this simply their newest release. --David Greenberger

Great Music, Great Visuals, Great Fun! January 6, 2009 I can't say enough about how awesome this CD/DVD combo is! My son just turned two and he adores they MIGHT BE giants! He asks to hear and/or see them daily. It offers fun and education at the same time! What great Artistry from they MIGHT BE giants and crew in both the musical and visual arts for our little ones. It is great for kids of all ages....my Son has been listening and watching them since he was 18 months old....and my Girlfirends boys who are 10 and 12 enjoyed it while visiting too! As for the adults--quite tolerable and even catchy tunes! HIGHLY RECOMENDED--Go out and get this one as well as their Here Come the 1 2 3's!
Gotta love it! January 2, 2009 This is such a fun CD and some of the songs make a lasting impression and are great to use the classroom (ie. "Vowels and Important Letters.."). This is a popular one in our house.
Great for Kids and Adults December 23, 2008 This is my 5 year old's favorite album. She knows every song by heart. I also find myself singing the songs in the shower. I have been a TMBG fan for as long as I can remember. They did not dilute their style to suite the younger audience. The DVD is a little strange but worth watching.
They Might Be Giants, ABC's December 16, 2008 I love "They Might Be Giants", but these songs are a little slower than their "numbers" dvd. Not as attention-grabbing for the kids.
"Out Of Order ABCs" December 13, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I feel that for ABCS to become giants, first of all of there has to be order! Generally, children are eager to learn and are fast learners. From Pre-school thru the early Elementary grades, the alphabets are taught in sequential order from A-Z. This DVD skips carelessly about and randomly selects out of order letters from the alphabets as they are presented in song. It is definitely not a great DVD for beginning learners. I would be equally afraid to order the giant numbers DVD created by the same publishers for fear of it producing numbers that are totally out of order as well! Don't be disappointed, find a DVD that's simple and repetitious for early learners if you want success.
