Put together by Abba's own Benny Andersson and Bjoern Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! manages to cram over 20 of the Swedish supergroup's songs into a threadbare plot. It goes a little like this: Young Sophie is getting married and she's trying to identify which of three men is her father. That's about it. Wisely, the musical doesn't mess around with the songs, save for the insertion of some dialogue or for having some of them performed by a man (it works amazingly well). Abba fans will jump on this import of the London production, but traditional fans of musical theater should consider it as well. After all, Andersson and Ulvaeus's songs have always felt as if they were more than isolated pop gems and actually belonged to a longer narrative. --Elisabeth Vincentelli This 5th anniversary edition includes a booklet with cast photographs, three bonus tracks ("Mamma Mia," "Dancing Queen," and "Waterloo"), and a bonus DVD featuring interviews, opening night footage, and show clips.

I have listened many hours to my new CD. I love it. Now I can remember all the times I went to this show. I can't wait till the movie comes out to buy that too.
Great CD/DVD Combo October 30, 2008
Not only is this a GREAT CD, but it was also fun to watch the DVD to see the action behind the scenes, etc.

The CD is great, but the DVD would not play correctly. It kept sticking on one spot, no way to advance scenes, etc. Have not had that problem with any other DVDs on my player. Very disappointed.

This music can't be beat anywhere. Looking forward to being able to purchase the show in it's entirety.

After seeing mamma mia(the broadway version and the movie), the music of abba stayed with me.This is an excellent cd.It not only has good music but the second disc with the behind the scenes look made this a very good purchase.I recommend it highly.
