| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com The orchestral-pop hit "Iris" (from the soundtrack to City of Angels) proved the Goo Goo Dolls were no one-hit wonder with 1995's "Name." One listen to "Slide," the crafty, yearning second track off their sixth release, suggests the streak continues for Buffalo's finest. Not surprisingly, aspects that make the aforementioned songs memorable--warm, acoustic stylings; strings; heartrending hooks--also make Dizzy come alive elsewhere. Ultimately, the effort documents the band's continued migration from indie rock toward the mainstream. Thus, while "Slide" and the reprise of the wondrous "Iris" might shine for weeks (or even years) of repeated listens, attempts to keep alive the group's power-trio past often have a been-there/done-that feel. --Neal Weiss

Great music great Amazon ! January 8, 2009 I needed this great CD for my "all time greatest collection". Amazon had it in stock, of course !
a breakout album December 14, 2008 I tried to find criticism about this album, but any complaint I have is far outweighed by the sheer quality of music. Whether you are just a fan of 1990s rock or a Goo Goo Diehard, pick this one up.
Great CD April 1, 2008 This is a great CD that still bears up to repeated listenings. Very rarely can you find a disc with as many charting hits as this one has. On top of that, the rest of the disc is also well crafted. If you look at their GH compilation that was just released...a good portion of the songs are from here. This is the best effort to date for the boys from Buffalo.
Jeff's review December 13, 2007 One of GGD's best !
Iris , slide , Black balloon , Dizzy and Broadway are my faverate songs on this CD, also check out "A boy named Goo" for more great songs
Accesible pop. October 30, 2007 Dizzy Up the Girl is a solid and quite intense album from the Goo Goo Dolls. Of course this album isn't perfect, there is a lot of filler but the songs released are absolutely their best ever like Black Balloon, Slide, Broadway, Iris, and Dizzy. My fave track on this album though is the short but moving Acoustic #3. Gutterflower has some of their best material, I would start with that album first. Dizzy Up the Girl is a fine album thanks in part to Johnny Reznick's stunning vocals. Rock on boys!
