Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com
This is your parents' Christmas record, in the best possible sense. Packed with Christmas crooners from Andy Williams and Johnny Mathis to Perry Como and Bing Crosby, sophisticated ladies Julie Andrews and Ella Fitzgerald, and several chorale groups such as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, along with Harry Belafonte, Connie Francis, and the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Time-Life Treasury of Christmas Music is all about nostalgia. When Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, and Gene Autry might be considered the set's most radical performers, you know you've reached the land of Christmas Comfort Listening. Classical music's titanic tenor Luciano Pavarotti delivers "O Holy Night" with his trademark bravado and Guy Lombardo closes out the collection with his standard "Auld Lang Syne." Still, you've got to wonder what the heck Alabama are doing here singing "Tennessee Christmas" beside the satin-sheet likes of Eddie Fischer taking on "My Favorite Things." --Martin Keller

5 out of 5 stars I'm just a Christmas junkie!   January 10, 2001

I'm a sucker for the "old-fashioned" Christmas music.....the songs and artists I remember hearing when I was a kid, when they played Christmas music the whole week after Christmas, instead of stopping at the stroke of midnight on Christmas Day! How wonderful to hear Perry Como, Gene Autrey, Lena Horne, Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, and Andy Williams sing some of my Christmas favorites. This collection is great!

4 out of 5 stars Time Life Christmas   December 21, 2000
Time Life Christmas is a very traditional collection of songs. If that is what you are looking for, this is the one to buy. There are three cd's, I found two to be better than one. I also thought that the price for these cd is a little high.

This CD of favorites will warm your heart at the greatest time of year!

5 out of 5 stars A great sequel to the original collection   October 15, 1999

Although I recommend purchasing the original Time-Life Treasury of Christmas collection first, this collection is a fitting and worthwhile companion set. If you already own the first set, you'll DEFINATELY want to add this set to complete your collection!
