Pretty cool. December 9, 2008 Really cool CD, all songs having a type of pop-rock sound that goes well with Steven's voice. I don't have a lot of favorites but those that I do like are awesome!!
My opinions on the songs are as follows:
1. Miracle Of The Moment - my favorite song, awesome lyrics that meant so much to me when I heard them.
2. Broken - Cool pop-rocker. Again, great lyrics.
3. Cinderalla - A great piano ballad that has now become Steven's #1 selling song. Heartfelt lyrics and good piano.
4. Yours - Good song of worship.
5. Something Crazy - fast paced song with both great lyrics and great guitar. My 2nd favorite song.
6. Children Of God - A song celebrating God's grace in calling us His children. Thought not really my favorite musically, the lyrics are great and his son sings on one part (pretty good, too.)
7. One Heartbeat At A time - Slow song "for mothers" I believe it was.
8. My Surrender - Another praise/worship type song - just okay.
9. You Are Being Loved - Fast paced song that would have been another one of my favorites except there's a guitar part that is pure rock and not my style.
10. Definition Of Me - Neat little song with a catchy beat.
11. With One Voice - My least favorite song. The lyrics are great, but the guitar doesn't sound like him.
Overall, I'd download separate songs rather than buying the whole album.
Best album yet November 29, 2008 I think this is Steven Curtis Chapman's best album since Declaration, all the songs are great. I saw him at a Grand Rapids concert while touring for This Moment, he was at his max. I would get this album because it is his best yet, I love it.
Refreshingly Different September 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This time, Chapman joins forces with producer Matt Bronleewe. A few songs show influences from groups: "One Republic," "U2", and "Coldplay" throughout the album. But, fear not Chapman sticks to his roots with his trademark guitars, crisp vocals and heartfelt lyrics. If anything, Matt gives Chapman a more mainstream sound that fits his vocals nicely. Overall, this is a great Chapman cd to have. "Miracle of the Moment" is my favorite track [it got me hooked and I had to have the cd for it]. The song "Children of God" hints at Chapmans' old hit: "Treasure of You" from the "Heaven in the Real World" album. What parents will like most is both them and their kids can listen to it.
shorty August 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love Stephen Curtis Chapman, but I refuse to give more than 2 stars to any artist who only delivers 40 minutes of music on a new recording. What is it with these guys? Maybe they have big bank rolls, but most of us regular Christians do not. 80 minutes is a full cd recording. I hope God speaks to their hearts. I hate to think they are intentionally short changing us!
