Album Description The Sound album released in 2008 shows Mary Mary are not ones to shy away from in-your-face declarations of faith, the girls are now more intentional than ever about whom they adore, without for a moment compromising their call to innovation and growth. The introspective 'Seattle' is a prime example, a pensive prayer that asks the Lord to descend upon the soul the same way rain falls on the Emerald City. In the vein of Mary Mary standards 'Can't Give Up Now' and 'Yesterday,' a couple of ballads on The Sound stand out for their passionate delivery: 'I Trust You' (feat. Marvin Winans) and 'I Worship You' are easily the sonic and spiritual plateaus of the album.

Out there November 23, 2008 I love Mary Mary. They are great and annointed singers. However, their new CD is a little out there. It does not showcase the women and the love of God. It is overly done, which takes away from the women and the message they are trying to convey. Take a step back and let your music reach the masses.
OFF THE HOOK!!!!! November 21, 2008 I don't care what the people say in this review. I love this CD and all the other CD's. Just like one of the reviews said this is a "New Sound" i am going to buy more for my friends a family. I love all the tracks, there is not one bad song that i want to skip. But what can i say some people have different taste. LOL
What the HECK!!!! November 20, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
What were they thinking? In these troubled times, we need Jesus. Not a look back at the 50's & 60's of Motown. This album STINKS, plain and simple. If you want a remix of other artist used material, then go ahead and spend your hard earn money on this train wreck. That's it for my Mary Mary. I'll go back to artist like Kurt Carr, Kirk Franklin and Donald Lawrence for some get me through the strom music.

Mary Mary's New album Rocks November 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
At first I didn't really care for "The Sound" the newest album from Mary Mary. But it grew on me... now I have it playing constantly in my trucks CD player. It's not the old sound of Mary Mary... it's a new sound and like I said at first I really didn't like it until I got the drift of what the Sound was about
