The Doctor is In September 29, 2008 City That Care Forgot portrays very well how Dr. John feels about the aftermath of Katrina. Though this album is a little off the beaten path for Dr. John because his anger, it is still another excellent disc. I live in New Orleans and have seen Dr. John perform at Voodoo Festival in 2007. He echoes much of my city's sentiments and its music superbly.
The City That Care Forgot September 10, 2008 Dr. John has used great music to remind us that the job is still a long way from finished in New Orleans.
Katrina by Dr. John August 29, 2008 Dr. John's work is always interesting, meaningful and down right great, but this a tribute to the City and People of New Orleans that will give you a chill and make you shake your head "yes" in agreement with his words, and tunes. Thank you, sir.

Dr John is the perfect representative of NO and its music. He conveys the problems that created the mess and the problems post Katrina. And he does it with great songs in his own style!
Stick it to the Man August 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Dr. J has the 411; New Orleans was f'ed over by the man in Washington, DC. The jazz is cool and long on the hard facts. It hits you on so many levels, your sponge Bobbin it. Politically Correct don't live here. See it through the eyes of the people on the street as Dr. J leads you down the streets in the City That Care Forgot.
