| Editorial Reviews:
Description Jonas Kaufmann and Anna Caterina Antonacci bring rare erotic intensity to the drama of Don Jose and Carmen in this darkly passionate reading of one of the most popular operas. With an image up to six times sharper than conventional DVD and superior high-definition sound, Blu-Ray lets you watch opera and ballet performances from the front row of the theater. Experience every detail, no matter how small, in the highest quality possible. With five times the memory of standard DVDs, Blu-Ray is a completely new way to experience the theater at home.

Blu- ray beauty November 22, 2008 This is my first exposure to opera on blu-ray. What a great introduction. The audio and video are simply stunning and the cast is outstanding. I cannot wait to see what is coming in the future. For all those who argue endlessly about blu-ray versus upconverted dvds, stop wasting your time and enjoy the latest advancement in home theater.
Excellent Wide-Screen Production November 14, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Amazon's current listing of the aspect ratio as 1.33:1 is INCORRECT. Like all Blu-Ray productions (that aren't of classic films) Decca's new opera productions on Blu-Ray are 16:9 (or 1.85:1) and anamorphic (according to Ken of the Decca Music Group.
