Amazon.com This is a real sleeper of an album, literally. Smooth-jazz musicians--including Peter White, Dave Koz, Norman Brown, David Benoit, and others--play music here to put babies to sleep. Fans of New Age music, specifically what came out of the Pacific Northwest in the '80s, may find many of these 14 tracks reminiscent of that period. Long-time listeners of smooth-jazz radio may be reminded of the kind of ethereal, spacey music that was played in the early days of the format. Many of the songs are as obvious as Brian Culbertson's somnambulating "Brahms' Lullaby" and Koz's "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," but some are inspired choices with creative arrangements and strong performances. Koz and his brother Jeff shine on the Beatles' title tune and the other Lennon/McCartney chestnut, "Blackbird." Brown's take on James Taylor's "You Can Close Your Eyes" is also moving, while not straying from the stillness of the concept. Perhaps the standout track is the superb performance of vocalist John Stoddart on Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely." --Mark Ruffin

Loved this CD for years! November 17, 2008 This is an awesome CD! We received it as a baby gift for our now 4 1/2 year old and it quickly became her favorite. She still loves listening to it, but now she shares her enjoyment with her new baby brother, who also falls asleep to it every night. While both of my kids enjoy it, I, as a parent love listening to it as well because whereas some kids CDs can be boring and get on your nerves after awhile this one is relaxing and peaceful. After 4 years we are still listening and loving and I now get it as a gift for all of my friends who are having babies!
A MUST HAVE for all new parents!!!!! A++++ November 15, 2008 When I had my first daughter, I searched high & low for good lullaby music. Very disappointed with what's "not out there". I came across this cd online & thought the picture was so cute & began to listen to the samples of each song. Oh my....I bought it instantly! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this & give it to every new mommy I know. More people need to know about this album. I never write reviews so I hope that says something wonderful about this. At almost 4 years of age, my daughter still listens to this cd at night & now her new baby brother does as well.
One good song, otherwise disappointing October 13, 2008 I bought this CD because I read so many great reviews and lets face it, the cover picture is absolutely adorable. However, I found only one great song "Isn't she beautiful" otherwise, the sound quality was terrible and I expected more vocals. In addition, the website on the cover advertising baby e-announcement does not work.
Best lullaby CD September 5, 2008 I bought this CD five years ago, and I just fell in love with it. We have been playing this CD almost every night -- origionally for our first born, who's five years old now; and now for our younger one. This is THE CD I brought to the labor room during the birth of both kids. Both times, the OBGYN and nurses have commended that they love this CD too. I have to admit that this is the only CD that we have listened to the most and still not get tired of it.
Parents Love It! September 5, 2008 I have purchased this as a gift on several occassions and have recevied nothing but positive feedback from the parents. They love it!
