Even without MySpace, singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat is sure to have found an audience, but her oft-accessed page accelerated the process, mostly on the strength of the effervescent "Bubbly." On her first full-length album, the California native conjures up clear skies and warm breezes. Not that the lyrics revolve around her stomping grounds of Malibu and Ventura County, but her mellow melodies sound like products of those places (co-writer Jason Reeves' ukulele playing reinforces the beach music impression). Instead, Caillat sings about love in all its guises, as on "Capri," a tribute to a mother-to-be. The daughter of audio engineer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac's Rumours), who provides production assistance, Colbie combines acoustic pop, light jazz, and blue-eyed soul on Coco. Despite her young age--22 at the time of its release--the record seems likely to attract an older audience, although her sunny singing manages to sound centered and spirited at the same time.  Good but not phenomenal - nostalgic, warm, and sweet. November 22, 2008
I got what I was hoping for out of this CD. Favorites were "Bubbly" and "Realize." The music is well crafted, well mixed, and very entertaining. Great job.

The first song I heard on the radio by Colbie was Bubbly and it touched a very special place at that time in my life. Someone very special who made ME feel that way. So, then I started listening to some of her other music and I really enjoy the mellow, adult alternative groovy kinda style. I'm in my 30's, so I don't want that bubble gum pop on the radio, but I do enjoy a WIDE range of genres and she seems to capture a bit of pop, country, folk, alternative, groovy, just make u feel happy inside! Giver her a good listen!

This is a pretty good cd. It has a nice mixture of upbeat and slower songs. Some of the songs sound similar though. I think the cd would've been better if she had a few duets. But I think its worth getting if you enjoy her popular songs.

Truly a great first-effort CD. Colbie Caillat has polish that you find in someone who's been making music far longer. Watch her for a truly stellar career.

I like most of the songs. "Battle" is my favorite. It doesn't include lyrics, this may be inconvient for some people.
