Bossa n' Marley is Great!! October 24, 2008 This is perfect music to suffer through the election and financial melt down. It will sooth your savage nerves
Awful June 18, 2008 I agree with the other negative reviews above. If you want to hear what sounds like a porn star breathily singing Bob Marley, this is perfect for you. Otherwise, don't waste your money. I could barely make it through the entire CD. And the female artist sounds NOTHING like Astrud Gil. I'll stick to pure Bob and never stray again!
Great Cover March 26, 2008 I found this album by mistake and I am glad it happened. The songs were covered in a great fashion, very melllow and yet melodic. Great album to relax and perhaps have a glass of wine.
Chillin' Out With Bob 'n Bossa July 7, 2007 I've listened for the first time to the songs on this CD on a LAN Chile flight where it was recently featured in the airline's in flight-entertainment system. Bossa N' Marley's a favorite with DJs in trendy clubs in Santiago and Buenos Aires.
Of course the music on this CD has actually pretty little to do with either Bossa Nova nor with Reggae. It's 'just' simply a great chill-out album. Great for listening after work, in your favorite lounge, or wherever you feel the need for a refreshing summer feeling.
The makers of this CD must have worked very hard to make the combination of Brazilian flavored Bossa Nova and Reggae work. But they really succeeded: This CD really works. The reason I think is that everybody knows the catchy Marley songs. And combined with some great Latin artists this thing had to become a success.
My fav songs on this CD are the sensuous "I shot the sheriff", "Could you be loved", "Waiting in vain", and "One Love". I only didn't like too much "Stir it up". Apart from that a simply great album I'll probably listen to for many more times.
A Mellow Surprise June 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, if you're interested in reggae in the vein of Bob Marley, you will be disappointed. That being said, "Bossa N' Marley" is relaxing and enjoyable. I stumbled across this album and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. My personal favorites on the album were track 8, "Is this Love" and track 12, "Waiting in Vein".
Once again, if you're interested in reggae and prefer to hear Marley as he was intended, you might not enjoy this jazzed up take on him. But if you don't mind jazzy lounge music, or just need an album to listen to when you're relaxing, you will most likely not be disappointed.
