Album Description Kasey chambers, one of australia's most loved female artists, has teamed up with (her husband) shane nicholson to record a new album, 'rattlin' bones'. Drawing on both their songwriting talents and unique voices, 'rattlin' bones' heralds a return to the alternative country roots that first launched kasey's stellar career, whilst establishing their own unique sound. This is chambers and nicholson at the top of their form to make an extraordinary "roots country" record - writing and performing heartfelt songs that speak with an undeniable honesty. Whilst giving a sizeable nod to chambers' country music upbringings, 'rattlin' bones' equally secures nicholson's natural fit on the rootsy highway. Having sold over one million albums, been awarded seven aria's, five cmaa golden guitars and a swag of apra awards, kasey chambers is undoubtedly one of australia's most respected female performers. Kasey's balance of commercial success with her credible country roots has accorded her the admiration of her fellow musicians - her supporters including notables such as emmylou harris, elton john and ben harper to name a few. Shane nicholson started his music career as the front man for brisbane-based rock outfit pretty violet stain and his subsequent solo work includes the albums 'it's a movie' and 'faith and science', which have received critical success in both australia and the us. Frequently praised for the quality of his writing and production in his past work, these same talents indisputably resonate throughout 'rattlin' bones'. Produced by nash chambers and shane, 'rattlin' bones' sees two of australia's finest singer songwriters unite for 14 tracks that straddle the gamut of emotions and are sure to delight. The album will be kasey and shane's first release through independent record label liberation.

If Fleetwood Mac was a Countryband... November 22, 2008 They will have a sound like Kasey Chambers&Shane Nicholsson on Rattlin Bones. The riff of Rattlin Bones is unique but sound looklike the Classic Fleetwood mac song "Tusk" but Kasey and Shane is so much better because they are very enthusiastic and you can here that they have fun when they are playing music.Their genre is good alternative country. The best ballad of the year 2008 is "One More Year" on this album. The music and the attitude is very generous with 14 great tracks. One of the most hypnotic and best tracks is Sleeping Cold, and Rattlin Bones is one of the three best album this year.
Rattlin' Bones November 21, 2008 All the songs on this cd are good, and at least half are very good.
Fantastic! November 13, 2008 I only learned about Kasey Chambers by chance and then immediately bought this CD. It is amazing!
Great CD! October 24, 2008 My husband and I recently subscribed to satellite radio and discovered Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson. Rattlin'Bones is a super CD. We highly recommend it to those who are looking for a fresh sound; not like all the other "country" singers you hear on the radio these days. From the first listen you will be hooked!
Back on Track October 22, 2008 When Kasey came out with "The Captain" I marveled at her songwriting and voice. When her next two albums veered off onto a more pop star sound, I thought she was one and done. But she returns to her folky/bluegrass/country roots on this CD and the addition of a male voice adds a great dimension. I just bought this CD, Emmy Lou's and Lucinda's new discs and if I had to keep just one, it would be this one - and I am a huge Lucinda Williams and Emmy Lou Harris fan. This one is that good!
