Album Description Fantastic 2007 UK compilation that features all 23 tracks found on Ronstadt's original Greatest Hits (1976) and Greatest Hits, Vol. Two (1980). Although often overlooked today, Ronstadt was one of the most popular female vocalists throughout the '70s and '80s, helping to usher many musical styles (from Country Rock to New Wave) into the charts. Plus, she's a fabulous singer to boot! She successfully covered a variety of oldies like 'It's So Easy', 'Tracks Of My Tears' and 'Ooh Baby Baby' and managed to make them sound like Ronstadt originals! Features all the hits including 'You're No Good', 'Different Drum', 'When Will I Be Loved', 'Hurt So Bad', 'How Do I Make You' and many more. Rhino.
Album Details 2007 Digitally Remastered Set that Brings Together the Hits from Ronstadt's Best Selling Era, the 1970's. She Established Herself with an Extraordinary Clarion Voice that Distinguished her as a Talented Interpreter of Popular Song. She Regularly Tapped the Songs of Up and Coming Composers (Like Warren Zevon and Karla Bonoff), Drawing Attention to their Work and Assuring Both Singer and Composer Mass Sucess. Whether She Sang Country, Straight-ahead Pop, '50s Rockers Or Even Soul, the Results were Outstanding. Includes "Different Drum" (With her Pre-solo-career Group the Stone Poneys) to the Country-rock of "Desperado" to her Sprightly Renditions Buddy Holly Hits ("That'll Be the Day") and the Everly Brothers ("When Willi Be Loved"), the Soul Classic "Heat Wave" and the Aching Cover of Smokey Robinson's "Tracks of My Tears".

awesome greatest hits collection April 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great import CD that includes both of the famous Linda Ronstadt Greatest Hits albums, Volume One and Volume Two. If you want a Linda Ronstadt CD, this is the one to get in my opinion. Outstanding vocals on all 23 tracks, she is a unique and extremely talented singer. My favorites include Blue Bayou, Ooh Baby Baby, You're No Good, How Do I Make You, and It's So Easy.
Tommy February 14, 2008 I've been a fan of Linda since the 70's. She is the best rocker during that time. Her singing voice is the BEST of all, especially the ballad's. I get goose bumps listening to this CD. A MUST for all her fans. It has all her hit's and more.
Linda Ronstadt February 10, 2008 I kept thinking about Blue Bayou by Linda Ronstadt and how much I liked it. I finally bought a best of by Linda and I am amazed at the number of great songs she has to her name. This is a gem of a CD and I recomend it to anyone. Linda has an one of those voices that you can't get enough of. If she ever comes out to Australia I'll definately be going to see her in concert.

I was watching a U tube video about Linda Ronstadt, and wondered if I could get a CD of hers. I went to my favorite site, Amazon, and typed it in. Up popped all her old records, now on CD. I had gotten rid of my record collection years ago, because we live in an RV now and don't have the room. I was excited about finding a collection of her best hits. I didn't need all 8 records again, just my favorite ones. They were all here on this one long playing CD!! Life is good, when you can put on a CD and relive those 60s, 70s and your youth!! Now, I want to find the Monkees. Oh joy!
NICE VALUE, TERRIFIC RONSTADT June 18, 2007 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Both of Linda's massive selling GREATEST HITS Lps have been released on one CD. This nice UK import is also nicely priced and contains some of Ronstadts best known songs. Like Connie Francis before her, Linda delved into reviving oldies and finding a formula that worked for her that would eventually lead her to branching out into other unexplored musical areas that make her a premier vocalist of her era and all time. Some of the more interesting cuts are the lesser known ones LOVE HAS NO PRIDE has the angst without resorting to cliche or soap opera. Her version of DESPERADO far exceeds the Eagles original cover. Then there are the great hits, YOU'RE NO GOOD, BLUE BAYOU and so many others.
A great 2 for 1 by the only female rocker of her era to "hold it together" as none equalled or surpassed her in her heyday.
Great nostalgia and a nice primer to search for her more adventurous works that she dabbled with on her Lps that listeners will be enticed to explore.
Terrific!
