Album Description
Now available for the first time in the US KATHERINE JENKINS Living a Dream! Katherine Jenkins' Italian-language version of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" ("L'Amore Sei Tu"), first performed live at Nostell Priory, West Yorkshire on August 28, 2005, is the first cut on Jenkins' third album Living A Dream. When the album was released in the UK, Katherine held the positions of one, two and three in the classical music chart at the same time along with her first two albums, becoming the only singer to do so. Living A Dream held onto the number one position for nearly a year and reached number four in the pop album charts. Jenkins repeated the success of Second Nature with her Living A Dream album when she won the classical BRIT award for Album of the Year for a second time. She now stands as the first female artist to win two consecutive Classical BRIT Awards. Katherine Jenkins first came to public attention when she sang at Westminster Cathedral honouring Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee in October 2003. In August 2004, she made her first US appearance supporting crossover soprano Hayley Westenra at Joe's Pub in New York City.

Album Description
Third album inside eighteen months from new classical crossover sensation Jenkins follows 2004's 'Second Nature'. Acting for the first time as co-producer, here she tackles a similar mix of fare as before. There are opera arias, including some usually sung by men; classic easy listening and show tunes; Welsh folk and a "classicized" version of Dolly Parton's 'I Will Always Love You', translated into Italian. Universal. 2005

4 out of 5 stars Great rendition of Un Bel Di in English   August 11, 2010

Purchased this album primarily to have Katherine's rendition of Un Bel Di in English - love the song (and now that I know what the meaning of the Italian, even more!). First heard it on Pandora. The other songs are good. Katherine is beautiful - would love to listen to her live someday. Let me know if others find other songs on the album particularly engaging. Charlotte Church and Sarah Brightman do as well on these standard popular numbers.

Katherine Jenkins' voice is so beautiful and so full of magnetism that once I start listening I can not stop. My wife is very picky with songs and singers. But she fell in love with this album right away. This is definitely among our most loved.

As with her other CDs, this one is another 'keeper'. I'm pleasantly surprised and impressed with her vocal talents and abilities. She is truly one very fine classical artist. Katherine, thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. I, for one, appreciate you and what you've accomplished.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent crossoveer   April 3, 2009

Crossover from opera to popular singing can be difficult - witness Marilyn Horne. She is a wonderful mezzosoprano in the operatic roles who does not translate well into the popular medium. Katherine Jenkins seems comfortable in both media, and she has a much better voice than Sarah Brightman. There are selections on this disc that are traditionally tenor arias. Why not a soprano?? This is a great collection - treat yourself!
