One of my favs May 7, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I really wanted to give this CD 5 stars, but after I bought it for the second time and listened to it after not hearing it for a year or so, I noticed the predictability of some of the 4/4 beats (on tranceparents child2 especially, which I absolutely loved awhile ago) and the drawn out old sound of some of the tracks further into the CDs (I know this is an older CD!). I guess this is what I get for listening to Aphex Twin and psi trance. I really love this CD especially most of disc 2 and the first few tracks on disc one. Some of these songs bring about sensations in my mind I cannot begin to put into words. For the fan of trance who likes a John Digweed sound, with a totally unique flavor, buy this!

He does it once again with spectacular music. There aren't enough words in my vocab to describe how bad rear section PvD is. *Drool*
don't overlook this March 10, 2001 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
as a van dyk fan who owns vorsprung, this 2 cd release is a must have...I even think it's better than the 3 disk vorsprung even though it's missing binary finary and for an angel...the songs aren't mixed and thus give a more mellow, self contained feeling because they fade rather than high-hat and drum into the next song...even the songs which appear on both vorsprung and perspective have the better mix here....for example, on 'chineese burn' there is less emphasis on vocals and more on instrumental which makes for a smoother sound.. all in all the 150 minutes here are more cohesive than the 210 on vorsprung...pick up both and see what you think.
Not Great, But Worth A Listen December 13, 2000 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Although this is deffinitly not one of Paul van Dyk's best works, I still enjoyed listening to it very much. Almost each track was collaborated differently from what other DJ's had previously done with the same tracks. Though "Perspective" certainly does not live up to his more recent efforts, such as "Out There And Back," I'd still recommend the album.
READ THAT BEFORE YOU BUY! May 19, 2000 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
Hey! Paul Van Dyk is a killer, and his remixes are killers, but pay attention: This album contains all PVD remixes until the begining of 1997. A year later PVD moved to a different label (Deviant) and issues a collection there called "Vorsprung Dyk Technik - The Remixes 92-98", which contains all the tracks from "Prespective" and the remixes from 1998 too (includes Flaming June, 1998 and For an angel). So look for this album - the price is the same, and you get 3(! ) cds with the best of PVD.
