3 out of 5 stars Pretty Good and Very Welcome   September 4, 2008
While it's always nice to hear a new one from Alice, this record is inferior in every way to his last one, which was a kickin' great fun rock and roll record with a great band, great songs and a cool nod to Detroit. It's a drag that fans always seem to await a return to the "Welcome To My Nightmare" period. That album had a (lousy) hit, but was nowhere near as good as "Killer", "Love It To Death" or "Billion Dollar Babies". Still, Alice rocks, and I'm enjoying this new one - just not as much as the last one.

4 out of 5 stars Alice!?   September 2, 2008

Big Alice Cooper fan since 1972. Have collected every album since PRETTIES FOR YOU. Always excited for new Alice. Very glad I bought it and would replace this cd without hesitation, however, this has taken a little bit to grow on me. (this is a first) It is good. I love watching him live and I would love to see this show as well. Very happy to hear Eric Singer again. FYI I am just turning 56 years old. Alice Forever!!

5 out of 5 stars Cooper delivers a solid CD   September 2, 2008
Music is always a personal decision about what you like or dislike. My husband didn't. He prefers Brutal Planet or Dragon Town. While I absolutely loved both of those albums, I still really enjoy Along Came A Spider. Of course, I liked Lace & Whiskey, so maybe that shows my range of Alice Cooper a little better. For the price I paid, If I only had 2 songs I liked it would have been worth it. Luckily, I enjoy it as a whole. Which as a concept style album is the way I believe it is meant to be enjoyed. If you are a true Cooper fan, you've probably purchased/listened to worse. In my opinion - Da Da comes to mind. You can always sample it or check the sites to hear it before you buy it, so you really have very little to lose. :)

1 out of 5 stars Consider Me Shocked   September 2, 2008

So this is what it takes to shock your hardcore fans - a big, loud, glossy, flashy bunch of nothing...almost all of this is forgettable. Working with C-list journeymen totally got the best of him this go-round, my only consolation is that an all-new stage show has been touted for the new year. Trying to pass this off as a "Steven Chronicle" is just awful. I can't even believe I'm posting this, but it's all honest. "The One That Got Away" sort of works on its own as black comedy, but...whatever. If you didn't like Brutal Planet/Dragontown, this one sounds like chaff left off of those. Thumbs up for an ambitious sound mix and packaging, but alas...

5 out of 5 stars Along Came A Spider   August 31, 2008
This is an amazing album! Alice out did himself again. It's a great story album, just like Welcome To My Nightmare and The Last Temptation. I would actually consider it part 3 of those other two. Once again, Alice has proven his genious and originality. I would recommend this album to anyone.

Now, amazon on the other had, leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the special edition vinyl with this too and they ruined it in the mail. I filed for a replacement and they said they were out of stock. But if I returned it, they would refund my money. I think they should have replaced the damaged item or refunded my money and let me keep the damaged item. But, you know how it goes...
