 It's OK December 2, 2008
This is the first time I've listened to Il Divo. I'm not really into Opera, so I thought I'd try it out. It's OK but not really my thing. I could listen to it as background music but probably not more than that. Looking at the other reviews it sounds like this just isn't one of their better albums.

My husband just happens to work at an Italian Center. Every Tuesday they have a special dinner. Many of the customers are in love with "The Promise". If you happen to have someone on your Christmas list that could really appreciate this, buy it for them. They will love you forever.

i really enjoyed their previous release, but this one was so-so. the songs are more mellow and the melodies are still great. it would have been better had there been a bit more a mixture in tunes/beats. even still, i especially loved track 9, 'la luna' and track 2, 'la promessa.' even if you don't know spanish, it's great to just pop it in the background and just listen to the soothing melodies. the cd in its entirety could have had more variety, but the songs really showcases their great harmony!
 Strong, Powerful and Moving - Great for This Holiday Season December 2, 2008
Il Divo is back, with a new cd filled with beautifully moving songs. Special note: all of the songs are in Spanish except for Amazing Grace, which is sung in English. This has disappointed some listeners, but I love it! For me, the words are not as powerful as the sound, and the sound does not disappoint. My favorite songs on this album are La Promesa, Angelina and Amazing Grace.
This album is great to use as background music for a dinner party. It is equally as nice for relaxing with a book and cup of coffee or tea. If you haven't listened to them before, listen to clips from each song - you may find a new favorite!

I get goosebumps every time I listen to Amazing Grace. What heavenly voices. My mom is getting one of these Cd's for Christmas.
