Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
2009 U.S. release. The Script is made up of three Irish lads from Dublin who are now currently based out of London, England. The trio's music boasts the kind of artful twists sure to turn all preconceptions on their head. This is a whole new brand of Celtic Soul, blending Hip Hop lyrical flow with Pop melodiousness, state-of-the-art R&B production with anthemic Rock dynamics, classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives. It's got all the emotion and passion you would expect from across the Irish sea, but it is glittering in its modernity, universal in its singalong addictiveness and global in its syncopation, music for the feet, heart and head. This 11 track album showcases the band's fine talent with a batch of beautifully written songs. Epic.

5 out of 5 stars Looking Forward to More From The Script!   August 11, 2010
Shauna Quinn
The Script's self-titled album is full of catchy, stuck-in-your-head-all-day songs. I'm not quite sure what genre best describes them, if that matters. Their songs range anywhere from rock, pop, soul, and r&b. Some people have mentioned that they "rap" in some of their songs. I think what they mean is that they do a bit of fast, rhythmic singing (especially on the track "We Cry", one of my favorites). The lyrics are what make this band so special. They are poingant and honest and relatable - no matter who you are or what you've been through. When I sat down and read the lyrics along with the songs, there were some where I just broke down and cried. Any artist that can move me, whether to tears or to scream in rage, gets my vote. To me, it's also important that they are true musicians. They had a hand in writing every song on the album, as well as playing their own instruments. In my opinion, The Script is the signle best band to come out in the last few years and I'm really looking forward to seeing what else they can do! I very highly recommend this CD!

After hearing their song "Breakeven" on the radio, I had to buy this CD. It was not a disappointment. However, it does have a few curse words in a couple songs I could do without. Also, the song "If You See Kay" is a crafty way of trying to be amusing I presume. A band with this kind of talent does not need to adopt such lyrics to be successful, my opinion.

5 out of 5 stars great CD, expect great things from this group   June 18, 2010

I've had the CD for several months now. I bought it b/c i liked the songs, "man who cant be moved" & "breakeven". It took a second listening to really appreciate the album. I have grown to love all the songs, some more than others. I hope to see great things from this band in the future.

I'm reminded of a cross b/t Maroon 5 & Matchbox Twenty.

The talent is literally dripping off these guys. This is the album Maroon 5 could have made last year but didn't. If you aren't familiar with The Script, you're in for a real surprise.
